Tony Jape

Tony Jape brings close to four decades of experience across retail and hospitality, with a strong track record in operational leadership and business development.

In 1999, Tony relocated to Dili to re-establish the family’s business interests, playing a central role in the growth and success of Jape Group in Timor-Leste. He oversees the Group’s major assets in the region, including Timor Plaza, Timor Plaza Hotel & Apartments and associated commercial developments within Dili Central.

Tony is deeply committed to the development of the Timorese community and tourism sector. He was instrumental in establishing the Timor Hotel Association and served as its inaugural Chairperson, contributing to the advancement of the country’s hospitality industry. His involvement extends to initiatives such as the First Lady’s Cup Marathon and the UN Women “He for She” campaign.

He is also an active member of the Timor-Leste Australia Business Council.
