Alan Jape
Chairman
Alan Jape has been a driving force behind Jape Group since joining in 1978. He served as Managing Director of Jape Group Australia from the late 1980s before being appointed Executive Chairman in 2022.
Born in Maubara with Timorese and Chinese heritage, Alan completed his education in Singapore and further developed his business expertise in Australia. Under his leadership, Jape Group has evolved from its origins in Timor-Leste into a diversified international organisation with interests spanning property, construction, retail, hospitality and tourism.
Alan has played a pivotal role in delivering landmark developments including Timor Plaza and Dili Central in Timor-Leste and Jape Homemaker Village in Darwin. He continues to lead strategic expansion across both regions.
In addition to his business achievements, Alan has contributed extensively to the broader community and business landscape. He is a Justice of the Peace in Australia, a former member of the Northern Territory Chief Minister’s Advisory Board and the founding President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce Northern Territory, where he now holds Lifetime Honorary President status. In 2022, he was appointed Chairman of the Sister City Committee with Darwin City Council.
